. . . Everything But The Kitchen Sink

Until you start thinking about a kitchen remodel, you probably won’t notice the great variety of kitchen sinks there are available today.

Copper Sinks look great, they can add a touch of class to your kitchen, copper has been used for generations in kitchens, both for kitchen sinks and for cookware. Copper sinks do have some very real advantages, but as with everything else, they are not for everybody.

Advantages of Copper Sinks

  • A copper sink can add a real sense of style to your kitchen, and a custom look.
  • Copper sinks are often hand-made which means that they are individual and there are plenty of artisan pieces for you to choose from.
  • Copper sinks are actually more more antimicrobial than sinks made from stainless steel.
  • If you don’t polish your copper sink, over time it will develop a beautiful and unique patina, although copper sinks are available complete with patina.
  • Copper sinks do not rust, or corrode in any other way.
  • Copper sinks are available in a wide variety of designs.

Disadvantages of Copper Sinks

  • Copper sinks are a little more expensive than some other types of sink, but hey, you gets what you pays for, right, and quality lasts.
  • Copper sinks are a little more prone to scratching than sinks made from other materials, so they need to be handled with care and respect.
  • Copper has a low melting point so can be damaged by hot pots and pans – well, just so long as you know then that’s fine!
